Which Martial Arts Style Appeals to You – when it comes to
kids lifestyle
choices, it is wise to take some time out to consider some things.
With the variety of martial arts forms today, it can be a daunting task to select one. There is a lot to examine, in order to make the proper choice – i.e., the martial arts style that will best suit you, and fulfill you.
There are certainly an exciting number of choices. Yet young people can feel confused when trying to narrow down the choices. Here I will give an overview of the various disciplines.
I find it is quite impossible to name a single style of martial arts to be best. In reality, there’s several contributing factors; thus, a definitive statement about a style being “best” is not feasible or possible. Despite the fact one style may beat another during a fight or competition, it doesn’t always follow that the winning style is the best.
Now, there are several things you should initially decide on. Martial arts are great to learn, no matter which style you decide on. The martial arts can teach you self discipline as well as self defense; additionally, several other traits spring to my mind that can and very likely will aid you on your life’s journey.
Self Defense
Internationally, there’s a number of martial arts school instructors who place a special importance on self defense. Others not as much. Teachers that focus on kata, forms, or light sparring are unlikely to educate you on what you’d need to be safe on the street . So if this is your goal (self defense), then you’ll want a style that trains hard and doesn’t let up.
Fitness
Even though martial arts can improve your fitness level, it isn’t the goal behind a lot of the martial arts styles. Several styles, such as Tae Bo, are based purely on martial arts and doesn’t include a lot of physical fitness training. *Note: If fitness is your main goal, then you’d better look at something else.
Fighting Ability
This will vary among the many different martial arts styles. Self defense schools will normally focus on how to take advantage of fighting skills, teaching you everything you need to survive.
Most martial arts styles are slow in theory, teaching you kata, movements, and forms. Self defense schools on the other hand, teach you how to cause the greatest amount of damage to the human body, in the least time.
Kids Lifestyle: Competition
Competition-based martial arts are all about winning trophies and showcasing your talent (and your particular discipline) to the world . The competition that you have chosen, will greatly impact your style of martial arts. You’ll need to decide if you’ll be fighting, or showcasing kata, light or heavy contact, or focusing on grappling or striking.
Prior to making your decision, you should always research the schools and dojo’s in your region and see what they can bring to the table. Of course, the very best schools of instruction would allow you to join in & try a few free classes, or offer you discounts on your first few months. Also, they will clear up any confusion you may have and be happy to give you good customer service, in order to get your business.
Martial arts
can be a very fun and exciting learning experience. There are hundreds of different
martial arts styles
out there, although you may find that you are somewhat limited in choice, depending on what is offered in your town or surrounding area. Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, and Jiu-Jitsu are some of the most common types of martial arts, and generally are available just about anyplace. The more distinct styles, such as Kung Fu, Shootfighting, Kenpo, and Shaolin styles are more difficult to find.
