Turkey Holidays: Ideas for a Fun-Filled Adventure
Want to add a bit of spice into your life? If you like to travel and find adventure, Turkey holidays can be a good way to go. There are beautiful beaches and wonderful restaurants, yes, but the thing that gets me stoked is the idea of exploring those ancient Roman ruins.
It’s awe-inspiring to be in a historic place of importance. When my friend went to Egypt, and recounted the story, it was quite moving – he said he could almost “feel Tutankhamun’s spirit”.
So let’s see, if you are one who likes history you could explore one of the seven wonders of the world – or two of the seven wonders, since the country of Turkey actually holds two!
There is The Mausoleum of Maussollos at Halicarnassus. Constructed by 4 of the most important artists of their time, it’s located in the beautiful peninsula of Bodrum. Bodrum was a small fishing village in ancient times; now it is quite a popular getaway.
Yachting in Bodrum Turkey
You can go on a yacht cruise at Bodrum Turkey, and let your cares go. As far as food goes, private yacht charters provide breakfast, four course lunch, and a five course dinner.
There are also local and imported alcoholic beverages available on board, in the yacht’s bar area.
Second Wonder to See: Temple of Artemis
The Temple of Artemis, aka the Temple of Diana, is another one of the 7 Wonders of the World. Located in Ephesus (near modern-day Selcuk), it had to be rebuilt after a fire.
Sculptures of Artemis show her as a multi-breasted figure with many facets; additionally, she has a temple on her head, in the form of a crown. This crown shows that she is the protector of cities.
Built in around 1000 BC as a place to worship the Anatolian goddess of fertility, Ephesus is an ancient city.
As you can see, there are a lot of fun things to do, once you book your flight to Turkey. I suggest you get cracking, get creative and design your holiday today.
